minutes from the Bazoges’s Donjon, a splendid
13th century monument, open to the public.
At the same time, visit
the Bazoges’s Donjon medieval Gardens.
The impressive Grand
Parc® du Puy du Fou® and its splendid nocturnal show “The
Cinéscenie®” is a must. La Cacaudière is located 45 minutes from
the Attraction Park.
The countryside around
the castle abounds in peaceful paths, suitable for cycling.
Signposted
walks in forest lanes are situated around the castle
in the nearby villages La Caillère and Thouarsais-Bouildroux.
The Vendée history is
present in places to visit like the l'Abbaye de Maillezais ( 30
km) and the l'Abbaye de Nieul sur l’Autise (30 km).
A Renaissance walk in
historical Fontenay le Comte
is worth the visit.
The Mervent-Vouvant
forest is only 20 minutes away. The perfect nature scenery for
beautiful excursions and walks.
One of the most
beautiful villages in flowers of France, Vouvant,
with its Mélusine Tower and its ramparts is less than
15 minutes away.

The “Green Venice” opens its gates from its piers.
The Vendée is also
celebrated for 100 km beaches of fine sands. We are 50 minutes
from l'Aiguillon sur Mer and numerous seaside villages such as
the La Faute sur Mer, La Tranche sur Mer, Jard sur Mer and les
Sables d'Olonne.
Likewise a visit to La
Rochelle with the old port, the historical downtown, and the
biggest Aquarium in the Region is recommended.
The Chabotterie Manor
with its Vendée historical museum, its splendid French Gardens
and its reputed gastronomic restaurant will contribute to your
appreciation of this region. The Vendée Memorial is not far away.
Luçon , its cathedral,
the Dumaine Gardens and its old residences are less than 40
minutes from the La Cacaudière castle
